Little Bottle straws are cut for 16oz bottles, Demi straws for 22oz. Here is how the two sets differ, why length matters, and how to pick the right bkr straw set.
Quick answer
No. Little Bottle straws are made for 16oz (500mL) bkr bottles, and 22oz (650mL) Demi bottles use their own longer Demi straw set. Buy the set that matches your bottle size rather than trimming or stretching the other one.
Why the two straw sets are not interchangeable
bkr sells its soft silicone straws in size-specific sets: 250mL for Teeny bottles, 500mL for Little bottles and 650mL for Demi bottles. The 16oz Little Bottle set and the 22oz Demi set are separate products because the bottles they serve are different heights. A straw that is too short will sit below the cap opening, and one that is too long will not seat properly in the straw cap.
The practical rule is simple: match the straw set to the bottle volume printed on your bkr bottle. If you own both a 16oz and a 22oz bottle, keep the sets separate so you are not guessing at the sink.
What the straw cap has to do with fit
The 650mL Demi straws are designed to work with bkr's Big/Demi Straw Cap: you screw the cap onto the bottle, then insert the straw through the clear silicone valve. The 16oz Little Bottle straws belong with the cap made for that bottle size. Using the wrong straw with a cap can leave the straw loose or unable to pass through the valve cleanly.
If you are replacing a lost or chewed straw, check the cap you already own before ordering. The cap size tells you which straw length your bottle was built for.
When a 16oz straw might seem to work on a 22oz bottle
A short straw can still reach liquid in a partially filled 22oz bottle, so it may feel usable at first. The problem shows up when the bottle is full or when you tilt it to drink: the straw end can slip below the liquid line or pull away from the valve. That is a fit compromise, not a proper match.
bkr does not list a universal straw that spans every bottle size, so treat any cross-size use as a temporary workaround rather than a solution.
Straw sizing questions answered
- Will 16oz Little Bottle straws fit my 22oz Demi bottle?
- No. Little Bottle straws are sized for 500mL (16oz) bottles, while 22oz Demi bottles take the longer 650mL Demi straw set. Choose the set that matches your bottle's volume. Check the milliliter marking on the bottle base before ordering.
- Which straw set goes with a 22oz bkr bottle?
- Use the Demi Bottle Straws 650mL set, such as the Southampton Demi set. It is made for 650mL bottles and fits the Big/Demi Straw Cap.
- Can I cut a longer straw to fit a smaller bottle?
- bkr does not describe trimming its silicone straws, and a cut end may not sit the same way in the valve. Buy the set made for your bottle size instead of modifying one. Keep one spare set per bottle size you own.
- How many straws come in a bkr straw set?
- Both the Little Bottle and Demi straw sets come as a package of three, each in a different color. That gives you a replacement on hand while another straw dries.
- Where does the straw go in the cap?
- For the 650mL Demi straws, screw the Straw Cap onto the bottle, then insert the straw through the clear silicone valve. Follow the same cap-first order for the 16oz Little Bottle set.
